About Me

I was born in Hong Kong and moved to the U.S. in my early teens, so I am a first-generation immigrant and a first-generation college student in my family. English is my second language, and I am fluent in Cantonese, the spoken language of Hong Kong. I can also read and write in both traditional and simplified Chinese. I can understand the majority of Mandarin but definitely not as fluent.

Being a first-generation immigrant and college student is why I am interested in the topic I picked for the final project for this class. I think it takes many factors for a student to decide to pursue education in another country. In this case, accessibility and finance are the areas that I want to dive into.
